Free QR Code with No Expiration

Did your QR code stop working after a free trial? Create a static code here: the content is written into the code itself, with no intermediary service, so it has no end date.

Static QR codes: the content is written into the code itself, with no redirection through our servers. It will always work, unlike “dynamic” QR codes that stop working at the end of a free trial. Static vs. dynamic: the difference

What should your QR code open?
Content: Link

Website, social media page, form, online menu…

    Customization

    Style presets
    Colors
    Shapes
    Modules
    Corner finder pattern outline
    Corner finder pattern center
    Logo in the center

PNG, JPG, WebP or SVG, 2 MB at most. The image stays on your device. The error correction level switches to H to make up for the covered area.

    Frame and call to action
    Frame

32 characters at most. A short prompt works best.

    Error correction M

Share of the code that can be damaged, dirty or covered without preventing reading. The higher it is, the more modules the code has.

100% local processing, nothing is uploaded

    How does it work?

A QR code never expires in itself: it is just a pattern containing text. The ones that “expire” are so-called dynamic QR codes, which contain the address of a redirect service: when the subscription stops, the service cuts the redirect and the code leads to an error or payment page.

The codes created here are static: your link, text or Wi-Fi credentials are written directly into the pattern. There is no server between the phone and your content. No account, no subscription, no scan limit, and no data about your visitors.

The only condition for a link to still work in ten years: that the target page still exists. Point the code to a stable page on your own website; you will be able to change its content without reprinting anything.

    Examples

    An engraved plaque

A restaurant has the code for https://mariosdiner.com engraved on a brass plaque. With a dynamic code at $10 a month, the plaque would cost $600 in subscriptions over 5 years, and would become useless the day the subscription stops. The static code will work as long as the website does.

    A printed book

A publisher prints 2,000 copies of a guide with codes linking to videos. It points them to pages on its own website, such as example-books.com/guide/chapter-3: if a video moves to another host, it updates the page, and the books already sold stay valid.

    Frequently asked questions

Why doesn’t my old QR code work any more?
Most often, it was a dynamic code created during a free trial: the service has disabled the redirect. Scan it with our scanner: if the address shown belongs to the service that made it (qrco.de, l.ead.me…), that is the case. Create a new static code to your real page.
    Is there a scan limit?
No. The code is read directly by the phone, without going through our servers: we do not see the scans and so can neither count nor limit them.
Can I change the destination later?
Not the content of the code itself. But if the code opens a page on your website, you can change that page, or redirect it yourself, without reprinting: that is the most durable solution.
    Will my QR code expire?
No. The QR codes created here are static: your link, text or credentials are written into the pattern of the code itself. There is no server between the phone and your content, so there is nothing to renew or pay for: the code will work as long as the content (your website, for example) exists.
