    How does it work?

    Choose what the QR code should open (a link, a Wi-Fi network, a contact card, a bank transfer…) and fill in the form: the code appears and updates with every keystroke. Then customize its colors, the shape of its modules and of its three corner finder patterns, and add your logo or a “Scan me” frame.

    While you work, the quality check reads the code back with a real decoder, just as a phone would, and checks the contrast, the color direction, the content length and the logo size. The calculator gives the minimum print size for the distance from which it will be scanned.

    The code is static: the content is written into the pattern itself. It depends on no server, never expires and cannot be used to track your visitors. Everything is computed in your browser; nothing is uploaded.

    A restaurant menu

    The link https://www.marios-diner.com/menu (33 characters) gives a code of 29 × 29 modules. Scanned from 30 cm (1 ft) on a table, it must measure at least 4.5 cm (1.8 in) per side, white margin included: an A6 table tent leaves plenty of room.

    A concert poster

    The same 29 × 29 module code, scanned from 2 m (6.5 ft) on a poster, must measure at least 29.6 cm (11.7 in) per side with its white margin: 8 mm modules. Exported as SVG, it stays perfectly sharp on a 60 × 80 cm (24 × 32 in) poster.

    Frequently asked questions

    Is it really free, with no limits?
    Yes. No account, no watermark, no scan limit, no subscription: the code is computed by your browser and belongs to you. You can use it commercially and print it thousands of times.
    Which format should I choose: SVG, PNG or PDF?
    SVG for printing and layout software (Canva, Illustrator, InDesign, Affinity): as a vector format, it stays sharp at any size. PNG for a Word document, an email or a website, at 1,024 px or more. PDF to print an A4 sheet directly with the code at the size you want.
    Does a logo in the center stop the code from being read?
    Not if it stays reasonable. A QR code contains error correction data: at level H, nearly 30% of the code can be missing. The generator automatically switches to level H when you add a logo, limits its size and reads the code back with a decoder: if the logo makes it unreadable, you are warned before downloading it.
    How do I scan a QR code with a phone?
    Open the camera app and point it at the code: iPhones (iOS 11 and later) and most recent Android phones recognize it directly and show a notification to tap. Otherwise, use the Google Lens app, or our online QR code scanner.
    Will my QR code expire?
    No. The QR codes created here are static: your link, text or credentials are written into the pattern of the code itself. There is no server between the phone and your content, so there is nothing to renew or pay for: the code will work as long as the content (your website, for example) exists.
